Pay Hamilton County Property Taxes

Last Updated: August 2026

Hamilton County property taxes are collected by the Hamilton County Treasurer’s Office. You can pay online, by mail, in person, through the courthouse drop box or at participating local banks.

Quick Answer

Hamilton County property taxes are generally due in two installments each year:

  • Spring installment: May 10
  • Fall installment: November 10

If May 10 or November 10 falls on a weekend or legal holiday, the payment is due on the next business day.

The easiest way to pay is usually through Hamilton County’s online Property Reports & Payments system. You can search for your property, review the amount due and make your payment online.

Pay Online

Use Hamilton County Property Reports & Payments.

Search for your property using information such as your address or parcel number. Select the correct property, review the balance and choose Pay Now.

The system also lets you:

  • Check your current balance
  • View previous payments
  • Print tax statements
  • View assessed values
  • Check deductions and credits

Partial payments and scheduled future online payments are also available.

Treasurer’s Drop Box

Hamilton County also has a tax-payment drop box at the west doors of the Historic Courthouse.

Payments deposited by the deadline are considered timely. A payment deposited after midnight on the tax deadline is considered late.

This can be useful if the Treasurer’s Office is closed but you still need to submit your payment.

Paying Through Your Mortgage Company

If your property taxes are escrowed with your mortgage, your lender may pay the tax bill for you.

Even when your lender handles payment, you can check whether a payment has been posted using:

What If I Pay Late?

Late property tax payments can result in penalties.

If you think you’ve missed a deadline, check your current balance through Hamilton County’s property system rather than relying on the amount shown on an older tax statement.
